There are some amazing paint schemes out there: Gulf, Martini, Jeff Gordon’s Rainbow Warrior, but what about the worst? Show us your personal least favorite racing paint scheme.

Dale Earnhard was the first to really get into one off liveries for special races. Most were quite good looking like his 96 Olympics car, Red Coca Cola raced in Japan, Wheaties car, but the ugliest car he ran, and stated how much he hate it, was his Peter Max car for the 2000 All Star race. This car just looked like someone barfed paint all over it.

There’s a lovely older 911 Turbo (or maybe GT3 I don’t remember) that I see near my house sometimes done up in similar fashion. I like it. It’s interesting and lets you know that the individual is an enthusiast.

There are too many liveries out there to point out the worst.

However I will say that Monster and Red Bull liveries are way overplayed. I also think that a Gulf livery looks like shit on most cars.

Lots of liveries from BTCC cars are too busy. Lots of sponsors and colors, really don’t like that.

It’s just 3 colors that represented a now defunct oil corporation. How does that make it immune to being made fun of?

Part of the reason people give you shit is because you act like a know it all, where you actually don’t even have a car yet (I’ll tell you again a 944 is not a good first car).

It’s ok. I was like that when I was your age (you can go back far on my profile and see me when I was like you) and there have been many before and after me.

Just relax a bit. You have much to learn. And I genuinely don’t like the Gulf livery. It’s not a capital offense and if you ever want to get good at automotive journalism (or just life) (seems like something you’re interested in, I’ve been FP’d a few times I’ll help you out if you want) you’ll need to be able to accept that some people have different opinions.

Effort Racing

Too busy and kinda looks like black vinyl is peeling off. Plus “Effort Racing” is a weird name for a racing team.

Anything with flames.

The Level 5 driver that got thrown in jail for predatory lending should be replaced with Krohn. You have millions to spend on racing, you take a beautiful machine paint it that hideous pale lime green? Ugh.

Again with the flames on their helmet. They actually chrome-plated their suspension arms for a time. Proof that just because you’re rich doesn’t mean you have class.

Well at least with that Invisible Glass sponsored Aston Martin car, the color scheme goes together. There are some liveries that really shouldn’t be called liveries (paint scheme) in part because your color scheme should make sense. :P
